Polyurethane balls have substantially superior wear and abrasion resistance and have properties similar to rubber. Polyurethane balls combine the strength of plastic with the shock-absorbing properties of rubber. The initial polymeric formulation has a significant impact on properties.

Corrosion Protection:
Polyurethane has good corrosion resistance to mineral oils, greases, petroleum products, dilute acids, and alkalis. Strong acids and bases do not cause the balls to resist. Poor resistance when exposed to steam, aromatic hydrocarbons, heated, moist air, and organic polar solvents.
Applications:
Check valves and pumps both use polyurethane balls as seals. In the food business, specialized bearings and safety valves are routinely employed.
