A trackball is a functional interface component. Diameter, roundness, surface condition, colour and pattern can directly affect movement, sensor tracking and the user’s interaction with the finished equipment.
The current product family uses unsaturated polyester resin and supports both optical and mechanical applications. Final compatibility must be tested in the customer’s actual sensor, bearings, rollers and housing before mass production.
Functional Design and System Compatibility
- Optical systems require a surface and pattern that the selected sensor can track consistently.
- Mechanical systems depend on diameter, roundness, surface smoothness and stable contact with rollers or bearings.
- Pantone-based colours, selected printed patterns, graphics and logos can be evaluated for OEM projects.
- The trackball sphere is supplied as a component. Application images must not imply that SDBALLS supplies the complete mouse, control panel or medical equipment.
